Birthday Boy woke up in a great mood, as usual, and was all smiles!
He managed to slosh milk all over his face...
...and gooble up 2 grown-up sized real buttermilk pancakes...
....and Nana had to pitch into help his mom finish cleaning the house and dressing the boy of the hour....
...and after much munching and squealing children and utter chaos...
...it was present time...
...Ben wasn't exactly sure of the goal initially but loved grabbing the tissue paper and throwing it around...
...and he had LOADS of helpers w/ long-standing present opening skills at the ready...sometimes not able to contain their frustration at his uncertainty and diving in to rip off the paper themselves!
...thanks to many WAY TOO GENEROUS party-goers Ben is going to be decked out in some v. nice outfits & PJ's....
...as you can see mid-way through the pile-o-gifts he was starting to catch on...
..cousins Paige & Colton.........
..the old bow on the head trick.....
....eating up his role as the center of attention.....
...bring on the cake....
..Mommy had to help blow out the candle before Benjamin could grab the flame! Whew! Close call!!
...Birthday's are messy work....
...having discovered the hat he had decided it must go....
...two gallons of icing later Ben 's eyes glazed over and we pulled the plug on the cake eating....

.Thanks to everyone who made Ben's first birthday so memorable! What a fun day for our busy guy!!
